It has been one hundred years since the Royal Bank of Canada opened a branch in Prince Rupert. On January 3, 1910, two months prior to the city’s incorporation on March 10, the bank accepted its first deposit.

By the early 1970s, the Royal Bank became so busy that a second branch was opened in the our Mall in Sept. 1975. After a few years, the older branch closed, Royal Bank remains the mall branch since then.
